Kung Fu Panda 2

Kung Fu Panda 2 is awesome!!!..I saw the movie in 3D this past weekend. The animation is awesomely great. I enjoyed watching the first one when it came out, so I definitely cannot miss the second movie. The Kung-Fu action is really cool and Exhilirating. I was so into it, a job well done. Lots of Kung-fu action and good plot with the Villain.
Comparing it to the first movie, I didn't think it was nearly as funny as the first one, but I was satisfied with the outcome and there's definitely good humor funny scenes. I mean this is a movie for kids, but at some point it felt like it was too deep for kids to comprehend that there was more about the past and the main character's back story, but the animation makes it easy to understand. I think a lot kids would just be paying attention to those action and funny scenes.
Overall, I enjoyed it and never a boring a scene. Will be looking forward to the next one. Rate it 9 out of 10.

Ip Man 2008 - The Master of Bruce Lee

The Real IP Man..




I saw this movie on netflix like twice already since I really like the action sequence and also the story of course since it gave me new perspective in life... This has to be one of my favorite movie of all time.
The cinematography is awesome and fight choreography is amazing.

I haven't really watched any martial arts film for a long time, and I'm a big fan at heart. I guess in my mind there's really not worth anything seeing nowadays since everything is just "build up hyped" except for the old ones which are more better with plots and storyline. I've been hooked on horror and thriller movies lately.

Anyways, I saw this movie on netflix, supposedly this movie came out on 2008.

I also heard that he was the trainer of Bruce Lee. Well, since im a fan of Bruce Lee, I got to check this out...LOL..he's the best, we need to check out who his trainer is..hehe

I think this is the movie that you should watch.

Mother

I saw a lot of movies during the holidays and breaks added. I haven't really got a chance to blog about them. I even signed up for netflix. Its very Convenient to have netflix so you don't have to travel and go to a video store if your feeling lazy or whatever the case is.
Anyway I rented this movie from Blockbuster during the holidays, called "Mother". Its a Korean movie I found near the New Release section. I don't really watch this type of Genre(Drama &Thriller type) but after reading the short sypnosis, it seems to have a good plot. So I gave it a shot since I have all the time in the world to watch so many movies in my three weeks of break. I have to say, it was very good, the ending wasn't exactly the way I want it to end but it was good. At least they were able to find out what she was looking for and able to solve the problem that she's not ready for.. Its amazing how a mother would break any boundaries and limitations for her child.
From watching this movie, I have to say Truth must comes out whether you can't handle it or not. It will set you free, but it will make you miserable at first.

"The Lovely Bones" 2009

I have to say this has to be one of the best movies I have seen. Drama is really not my type of Genre, but this one I like...lol..It has some suspense to it. The Graphic Fantasy visual effects was really great, but what really was awesome is the story and meaning behind it. I don't remember when was the last drama movie I saw that made me a little eyed teary, I guess Im checkin my other Blog movie review.
A short introduction of the movie:
About an ordinary girl on her way home from school and was murdered in December 1973.
Susie(The main Character) was trapped in this "In-Between" fantasy place where she's able to see and observe all the stuff that she left on earth. She watched her family, mom and dad, Grandma, her murder mystery, her crush, and her murderer after her death.
Though the ending was kinda like a dissapointment for me with the pay-off from the murderer in the end, I was hoping it could be something more justice like electric chair or something for all the little girls she killed, But I guess a gruesome death is good enough. Well, This has the vibe of a family drama, so I guess high-school puppy love scene would suit to free her completely so I just have to suck it up..hehe.. And Of course, You can never bring a loved one back whatever you do, and we all must have to move on. I don't think "revenge" was the ideal focus in the story. In real life there are a lot of cases and stories that are unsolved.

"Case 39" 2009

I saw this movie Couple of weeks ago Actually and forgot to make a short review.
This movie came out last year. One of my friend lend me the DVD to watch it.
Since I like horror and suspense movie, of course I didnt hesitate to go see it.
The Story is about a Family Social Service Worker Emily Jenkins(Renee Zellweger) who seems to have seen it all. She met this 10 year old girl Lilith Sullivan(Jodelle Ferland) and the child's cruel parents. Little she know about the family, she folled her instinct and made tremendous efforts to save lily from the seemingly dangerous vibe she feels from parents. She took care of Lily while they search for a perfect foster family to move on. Little did she know, She help ignite a very dark supernatural force surrounding the kid and the greater horror had just begun...
The movie was good, it sorta kept me on the edge of my seat for a bit. The movie has a very good twist as it progress. What I like about this movie is the image and visualization they portray that leaves me wondering and imagining stuff. I have seen many Horror movies in the past, but this one still gives me the thrill ride while watching it, Even though some part/scenes on this one haved already played to my expectations of what is about to happen.I actually watched it twice, the reason is I wanted to kinda scare my friend, and it didnt work.

Haunting in Connecticut(2009)

I saw this movie last year at the Theaters, and saw it again on cable couple of nights ago. The movie was actually a true Story. The house use to be a funeral Parlor with Disturbing history and inconceivable acts performed providing gateways to spiritual entities.. I remember first watching the documentary on Discovery Channel. That version was actually scary and kinda got me thinkin about it for days. I would give it an 8 out 10. It wasn't really that bad. I guess it would be a lot scarier if I didnt know the story already to begin with so I won't have much of expectations. the Special effect was good...when that thing came out of the boys mouth...it felt kinda gross and disgusting.

I saw this movie two days ago, I thought this movie was ok. The visuals, graphics and special effects, I would say hardcore. I totally felt the violence in this world.I saw the preview on Youtube and I thought I needed to see it since it look really mind blowing and action packed which it did and it sort of reminded me of Transformers.
Im not really a big fan of video games, so maybe that might be one good reason for me not to completely like the movie.
One of the scenes that I find disturbing was when the extremely fat guy eating waffles while playing video game...right there it still sounds normal, but if u see the movie, you'll probably feel a lil disturbed.
There was a dance number in the middle of the movie...I thought that was really random...It was about to get serious, then you see soldiers snapping their fingers about to hit their synchronized dance routines...lol
The ending was just not very surprising, good guy kill the bad guy evil villain type of stuff. I was expecting some sort of a twist ,but I guess not since the focus is to save the family,stop the destruction of video games technology and the people behind it.

Overall, I would give it a 7.5 out of 10. Its still pretty good...entertaining in a way)..a better story line would make it awesome...I would not see it again,but I suggest to check it out.

Orphan 2009

This movie is not very good...its awesome!...Im a big fan of horror.

Quick Summary:
Kate and John were so devastated by the loss of their unborn baby that they decided to adopt a child at the orphanage. they were both feel drawn by a nine year old little girl named Esther, and soon as the couple welcomed the new daughter into their home. A series of questionable dangerous events and tragedy unfolds, seems Kate is the only one that can see through Esther's manipulative charm. She begins to suspect that there is something evil behind their adoptive daughter.

I was somewhat nervous watching this film from anger and wanting to go inside the screen and kill the little b*tch...haha...can't believe she so slick, she got away with so many things like "killing people"...talk about complete insanity....lol
Like most of my friends had said...it has a very unique and creative twist with the plot especially in the ending...I would have never guessed what that little girl was...I thought it was just a pure evil kid like in some old horror movie in the past.
Its rated R..so I would definitely not recommend to show this to children.
Its somewhat disturbing. Actually made myself more cautious about kids...especially orphans...lol..whatever
The actors in the film were great...especially that little girl(Isabelle Fuhrman)...she should win an oscar.
Another great horror movie.


i would rate this 9.5 out of 10.

Pans Labyrinth 2006

The Director Guillermo del Toro did an amazing job with this film. Hopefully we see more fantasy movies that are like these.
This is one of the most Touching Fairy tale I have seen. Didn't think it was going to be all that, but its still very good. The role of the evil captain just makes you hate him so deep, that it left me wondering, how people could so evil and cruel. But on the good side, the main character - Ofelia, the 12 year old little girl in the film. Just catches your emotion in so many ways that she makes you care for her, watch for her, feel bad at times, and celebrate for her..etc..just draws your attention.
This is how a fairy tale should be like. Something that leaves you wondering and imagining how the situations could have ended with other possibilities.
A good example of Good vs evil plot, light and darkness.
My question about this film, and kinda leave me blank to take some assumptions is...Was it reality in the movie besides the killing and everything or was it all on Ofelia's imagination even to the very last scene of the movie?

Drag me to Hell

One of the best horror movie I think.... I consider myself a big horror fan and pretty much confident to know what a good horror movie is. I was laughing most of the time while watching this, but I kinda was in the edge of my seat at the same time. Its like a mix of spooky horror and comedy...there are scenes that are very intense but still able to inject some funny moments. The gross-out special effects had me dying too....lol...especially the maggots, pleghms, and blood spray..aahh..it was nasty.
I'm glad I watched this in the Theater. Its a good ridiculous Horror entertainment...LOL...I hope this can school some of the future horror movie thats comin up in the future.

Spee Racer

I thought that this movie was pure awesome...I saw it on cable the other day..HBO i think or SHOWTIME,.neway..I kinda predicted that it was going to be a wack movie when I was browsing the titles, But Gave it a shot...Turn out to be excellent in my opinion. This whole movie is pure brightness with color that I almost had a nose bleed from watching...lol...gave me a headache in the end...I dint wanna see a bright green color from any object for some reason...The beginning was ok, then it get to the other half..it was almost pure speed...loving the special effect too.
I didnt expect it to become exactly as the old school cartoon series but I was wrong, the whole concept was almost nailed down starting with the characters and the story.
The thing also is like they added matrix martial arts with cars...haha...
worked for me.
I also like the message that was brought by this movie...It gave me a good motivation to pursue what I really want to in the future and there's always good deeds planted on every aspects of life.
Im pretty sure lots of kids will love this movie.
